@BukolaSaraki Only Attended PDP Senate Caucus Meeting As The Senate President – Mashood Mustapha
There are strong rebuttals on rumours making round that the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has dumped APC for PDP. The Senate President at the earlier hours of today through one of his media aides, has debunked the rumour, that as the Chairman of National Assembly, he is the father of all parties, so he honors invitations to events from all his colleagues.
Hon. Mashood Mustapha who is a former House of Representatives Member and the current Special Adviser to the Senate President Bukola Saraki on Intra-parliamentary Relation, Special Duties and Protocol Matters also disclosed that the meeting was at the instance of the Opposition members of Senate reaffirming their unalloyed support for Saraki’s leadership and that such meetings of the opposition parties were also attended bybhis predecessors in his recent Facebook post as below.
“It is not true that the Senate President has dumped APC for PDP. I was part of the team that accompanied Senate President Bukola Saraki to the said meeting held at the residence of his Deputy at Apo Legislative Quarters. The said meeting was at the instance of the Opposition members of Senate to reaffirm their unalloyed support for his leadership. I can categorically state without fear of contradiction that at no time was any issue relating to joining PDP came up.
What is paramount to the Senate President is how to ensure that the 8th Senate deliver on its mandate to Nigerians. This is no time for Politics but serious Work. General Public is hereby advised to discontinuance the false story. We remain loyal to APC.”
End of quote.
