ComingComing up: A look at projects planned for implementation by the Kwara State Government in 2018.
In order to solve the problem of acute shortage of office space, Kwara state government will intensify effort during the 2018 fiscal year to complete ongoing construction of new secretariat building for civil servants.
In this year, Kwara state government will accord high priority to the Agriculture sector with emphasis on job creation for the youth through different agricultural initiative programmes.
In this regard, Kwara state government will provide agricultural inputs, credit facilities, fertilizers, seedlings and land acquisition for farming to farmers across the State.
Already, Kwara state government has earmarked N200m in the budget to access N1.830b from the World Bank, and through this effort, 381.7 km rural roads across the State will be constructed.
Peasant farmers in the State will be supported in the area of farm mechanization. Plans are at advance stage to partner with the FG & Chinese Government to support the State through the supply of tractors and other agricultural equipment.
To sustain the successes recorded in 2017 under the Off-takers Demand Driven Agricultural program, Kwara state government will support genuine and registered farmers in the state with credit facilities to the tune of N1b through the CBN-Anchor Borrower scheme.
The Kwara AgroMall will also continue with its various activities for farmers in the provision of farm inputs, improved seeds, extension services and also fast-track linkages between Off-takers & famers through value chain & effective marketing strategy.
More towns and villages across Kwara State will be connected to the national grid to boost economic activities in those areas.
To stimulate the informal sector of the economy, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the State will be supported with the provision of micro-credit to the tune of N500m.
Kwara state government will continue to enhance the provision of potable water in the state in order to ensure realization of the 500 meters water access goal of this administration.
Also, the expansion, renewal and maintenance of water supply infrastructure and services in the state will be pursued with vigour in this fiscal year. #Kwara2018Projects
