Saraki Begins Commissioning Of Ward Constituency Offices

In fulfilment of the earlier promise made by the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, to bring more dividends of democracy close to the grassroot, he has begun the commissioning constituency offices today in each of the fifty two (52) wards that make up the Kwara Central Senatorial District being represented at the upper chamber of the National Assembly Abuja by the Senate President.

Recall that in the last few weeks, appointment letters were distributed to one hundreds and fifty six (156) Assistant Legislative Aides (ALAs), three of whom were selected from each ward of the senatorial district to administer the peculiar needs of the people of their ward and channel it to the Senate President for necessary action.

The commissioning, which was performed on behalf of the President by the Director General of ABS Constituency Office, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, and the Special Assistant to the Senate President on Legislative Aides, Alhaji Biodun Baraje, had in attendace, the leguslative aides to the Senate President and many of the stalwarts All Progressive Congress of each ward in Attendance.

Alhaji Abdullahi maintained that their principal, Sen. Saraki, recognises the electoral wards as the strongest units that should be prioritized with regard to their unique requests in governance. He went further by saying, that singular reason resulted in making each ward of his constituency represented at his constituency office located at Western Reservoir road, Olorunsogo area, Ilorin since he was a flour member at the 7th Senate. He concluded by making it known that the juiciness of the Senate President which was prayed for by all Kwarans, resulted in havung three ALAs additional to the Senior Legislative Aides (SLAs) and Legislative Aides (LAs) already in place in each ward.

According to the Special Assistant on Legislative Aides to the Senate President, Alhaji Biodun Baraje, “Sen. Saraki strongly believes when the grassroot is developed, the entire nation is developed, hence the decision to bring good governance closer to the grassroot.”

As reported by a Kwara Legacy Frontiers reporter, the people of almost all the wards used the commissioning event to appreciate the Senate President for many of his monumental projects and interventions, ranging from road construction, borehole water, scholarship for students, classrooms, streetlights, ICT centres, erosion control projects, instructional materials among others. They also used the medium to solicit for more amenities and welfare.

As at the time of filing this report, twenty seven (27) out of the fifty two wards of the constituency have been commissioned whilst the commissioning train is still on the move.
