Late ex-ICPC chair Akanbi was nation’s pride – Rep Ahman-Pategi
The member representing Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Aliyu Ahman-Pategi has described the late former President, Court of Appeal, Justice Mohammed Mustapha Akanbi as the nation’s pride.
The retired jurist passed on in the early hours of today at the age of 85 years.
The lawmaker who expressed shock over his death, said the late jurist who also served as the pioneer chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission,ICPC,did his best to the development of the nation.
He said Justice Akanbi was a pride not only to Ilorin and Kwara state where he was born, but a pride to Nigeria and indeed the legal world.
The lawmaker noted that he was a fearless and incorruptible jurist as well as an elderstatesman whose views on national issues were always respected.
He prayed almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and make Aljanna Fridaos his abode and give the family, the government and people of Kwara state and the legal world the fortitude to bear the loss.
