Opinion: Why Hon. Mustapha Ope Saraki Deserves Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency Seat In 2019

By Surajudeen Oloyin

Hon. Mustapha Ope Saraki is not only a born and bred but also an illustrious and philanthropic Ilorin Emirate child whose passion for human capacity building and holistic development of the community he hailed from knows no bound. His father is Alhaji Abdullahi Saraki, who is the immediate younger brother to the late Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki, the man who sacrificed his lifetime to making sure that Kwara State was not relegated politically and developmentally.

The young man served as a Special Assistant (SA) to the Distinguished Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Students’ Matters while he was Kwara State Governor; and he had also served as SA on Millennium Development Goals to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, before he became SA on SDG to the same man, the office he is occupying up till date.

Hon. Ope Saraki needs to be given chance to serve us in the greater capacity, considering his altruistic and approachable nature and immeasurable determination for giving dividends of democracy to the people. The is the major reason why the ambition was firstly propelled by the people of Ajikobi ward of Ilorin West local government from where he hailed, as their only candidate. Also, Ope Saraki needs to be fielded into national politics to shut the mouths of Oshiomole and others who are saying that Senate President’s immediate family members are not in good term with him because he does not want them to politically excel like him.

As a blood brother, Ope Saraki has been very supportive to the political successes of his cousin brother, Dr. Bukola Saraki and giving him the chance to succeed the present occupant of the seat who hailed from Asa local government of the constituency, will relieve the Senate President of some political assignments he will have to battle with when he becomes the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2019, by the grace of Allah.

Giving mandate to this young man is a great avenue to not only assist the Senate President to have more political allies from his own family but also strengthen Saraki’s political dynasty more.
