HoR by-election: Kwara APC Youths Pitch Tent With PDP’s Alatise … say APC Factional Candidate, Ajulo, is too foreign to know where the shoe pinches
Ahead of the November 17 Ekiti/Oke-Ero/Isin/Irepodun Federal Constituency by-election, scores of youths in the All Progressives Congress (APC) within the constituency, under the aegis of Orisun Igbomina APC Youth Movement, have thrown their weight behind Alhaji Saheed Alatise, who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the election.
According to them, the BOB led APC factional candidate for the by-election, Ajulo-Opin is a foreigner (Ajele), who has no connection with the people at the grassroots and therefore, does not understand their challenges and aspirations.
The APC Youths, while addressing the press in Omu-Aran, the headquarters of Irepodun local government of Kwara state yesterday, said that while Alatise resides in Omu-Aran and has cordial relationship with the local people, Ajulo is a Lagos-based politician who rides on only his relationship with Alhaji Lai Mohammed and not well rooted in Omu-Aran where he hails from, not to talk of other areas within the constituency.
They therefore declared their support for Alatise and expressed their readiness to mobilise votes for him and ensure he wins the by-election, against their party’s candidate who they described as another beneficiary of the prevalent APC’s external influences of Abuja/Lagos politicians that has reduced the party’s winning chances in 2019 elections.
The youth also alleged that the APC has not shown readiness for the election unlike the PDP that had set machinery in place by inaugurating a campaign committee to work for the success of the party at the poll.
They also appealed to APC leadership in Kwara State to always field popular candidates for elections and should detest from imposing unpopular candidates on them.
