Rasaq Lawal Condemns Attacks On Saraki’s Supporters, Family
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Ilorin West/Asa constituency in Kwara state, Ustaz Rasaq Lawal has condemned Sunday’s attack on the Agbaji, Ilorin family residence of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki by political thugs loyal to the factional All Progressives Congress( APC ) in the state.
Lawal in a statement cautioned the factional APC gubernatorial candidate, AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq from importing Lagos culture of violence into Kwara state.
He urged the factional APC stalwarts to embrace issues – based campaign as being done by the PDP national leader, Dr Bukola Saraki, instead of resorting to violence.
He said the events of Thursday and Sunday which featured destruction to lives and property at different locations in Ilorin have clearly shown that Abdulrahman and his sponsors were desperate in their quest to govern the state.
Lawal reminded the masterminds of Thursday and Sunday massacre of innocent and harmless residents that it’s only Allah that gives power to whom He will.
The Representative hopeful noted that the people of the state have decided to stand by Saraki and that no amount of intimidation would make them sway in their support for the Senate President.
He called on stakeholders in Ilorin affairs to prevail on the factional APC gubernatorial candidate to call his rampaged thugs to order.
