Eid-el-Kabir: NYCN urges violence-free celebration in Kwara

The Kwara State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has appealed to kwarans  to continue to be law abiding and shun all acts of indiscipline that could truncate the existing peace in the state.

NYCN said,” kwarans especially the youth should eschew any form of violence during and after the Eid-el-Kabir  celebration in the state”.

The state council chairman, Comrade Kazeem Adekanye, gave the admonition in a statement signed by the Director                                                       of Media and Publicity of the state NYCN, Comrade Bamikole Oladele Babs, at the weekend.

He said, “We want to felicitate with muslim faithful the world over. We also urge them to imbibe the true spirit of the season, which is premised on sacrifice, peaceful co-existence and neighbourliness.

“We frown at any attempt by anybody or group of people to foment trouble in the state during and after the Sallah celebration.

“We enjoin the security operatives to be up and doing, and be at alert to nip in the bud any incidence that may disrupt the conviviality of the season.

The chairman also urged Youth to  imbibe the spirit of entrepreneurship for economic sustainability and to reduce unemployment.

Kazeem Adekanye also enjoined youth in the state to key into the change initiative program  of President Muhammed Buhari recently launched in abuja.

He said,the programme would further strengthening the nation pride as a country and develop the country economy.

Comrade Adekanye urge government at all levels to develop programmes for sustainable youth development and eradication of poverty .
