Governor @AbdulfataAhmed Promises even Distribution of Projects

Kwara State
Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has promised the people of the state that his
administration will ensure even development of all parts of the state without
discrimination.

Governor Ahmed
said this in Share, Headquarters of Ifelodun local government area of the state
during the launch of Share Education Endowment fund.

 

According to
the Governor, equity and even spread would be criteria for the distribution of
development projects, as “no part of the state will be disadvantaged in terms
of infrastructure allocation”.

 

Governor Ahmed
who disclosed that “a minimum of 3000 jobs would be created along the Ifelodun,
Edu and Patigi Local Government axis when the Chetex Park, a partnership
between Kwara State government and a Chinese Textile firm, takes off in
Ifelodun local government area.

 

On
Agriculture, Governor Ahmed said a sum of N1bn has been made available
under the administration’s Off Taker Demand Driven Agriculture Scheme for
farmers involved in cropping, fish farming and animal husbandry, under which
farmers will be provided with agricultural inputs approximate to the amount
borrowed to ensure efficiency and eliminate diversion.

 

Dr Ahmed
noted that people’s partnership with the state government was crucial for the
success of prosperity oriented programmes of the government, stressing that
without the people’s contribution and active involvement prosperity would not
be created.

 

“Government
alone cannot create prosperity without your contribution. Thus, your
responsibility, among others, is to partner the government to promote
agriculture, the main occupation in our state, for food security,
employment and alternative revenue”, the governor said.

 

Ahmed advised
the people of the State to embrace peace and ensure good neighbourliness as it
was crucial for prosperity to manifest.

 

The National
President of Share Patriotic Movement, Mr AbdulFatah Jimoh, in his speech
said the Education Endowment Fund was part of strategy to check decay in the
education sector that Share youths contend with.
