Gov. Ahmed Urges Nigerians To Support Buhari-led FG

Nigerians have been urged to support the efforts of the President Buhari-led federal government in finding solutions to the challenges facing the country in order to achieve the desired change.
The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed gave the urge on Tuesday, while declaring open the 10th Annual National Conference and Anniversary of the Association of Sociologists of Education of Nigeria (ASEN), held at the University of Ilorin.
Governor Ahmed, who spoke through the State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Engr. Musa Yeketi, said that Nigerians must discard the notion that the government alone is responsible for resolving all challenges facing the country.
“In our present circumstances, none of us can afford to assume that somebody else will solve our problems; each of us must take his or her own share of responsibility, because universal responsibility is the key to human survival,” the governor said.
He, therefore, encouraged Nigerians to do their best, contribute their own quota and support the efforts of the government targeted towards achieving the sustainable development and growth the country desires.
Governor Ahmed also noted that part of the efforts taken by his administration to tackle the current economic challenge is the establishment of the Kwara Infrastructure Development Fund (IFK), which seeks to stimulate the State economy through private sector participation in infrastructure Development.
The governor assured that his administration is ready to partner with any group or organization to boost all round development in the State.
Earlier in her remarks, the acting President of ASEN and wife of late Nigeria President, Prof. Uche Azikiwe, called on the FG to restructure the country’s educational system, stressing that education remains vital towards the actualization of the sustainable development Nigeria seeks.
Minister of State for Niger/Delta Affairs, Prof. Claudius Daramola was among the dignitaries presented awards on the occasion. He is a member of ASEN and former lecturer at the faculty of Education, Unilorin.
