TIC: NULGE Commends Gov. Ahmed

The Kwara State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has commended Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for inaugurating  Transition Implementation Committees (TICs) for the sixteen local government councils in the State.

In a letter to the Governor signed by its Secretary, Comrade Afolabi Abayomi, the Union expressed happiness over the various efforts of the governor aimed at reforming and ensuring that sanity is brought into LG administration in the State.
NULGE acknowledged the commitment of the State government towards resolving various challenges affecting the local councils including backlog of salary arrears owed LG workers.
The labour union congratulated the newly sworn-in chairmen of the Transition Implementation Committees (TICs) for the sixteen local government areas of the State, while also pledging its support to the Committees.
NULGE, however, urged the TIC members to reciprocate the confidence reposed in them by the State government by ensuring proper and effective administration in their respective local governments and bring the third tier of government back to greater heights.
Governor Ahmed on Tuesday swore-in the TIC chairmen and enjoined them to take advantage of the reduced recurrent expenditure provided by the TIC structure to clear the backlog of salary and pension arrears owed LG workers and pensioners, while also urging them to prioritize infrastructural projects that will bring swift relief to the people.
