#2017AbujaHousingShow: Kwara Receives Excellence Award in Housing Development

The Kwara State Government on Monday bagged an award of excellence in Housing Estate and Infrastructure Development in Nigeria for pursuing mass housing policies and bringing innovations in the construction sector.
The award was presented by the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing in collaboration with FESADEB Communications Limited at the 11th Edition of the Nigeria Housing Infrastructure Award in Abuja.
Receiving the award on behalf of the State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed (Sai Maigida), was the Kwara State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Muideen Alalade.
Hon. Alalade appreciated the organizer of the programme for acknowledging the good works of the State Governor in the provision of Housing Estate for the entire Kwaran populace.
The commissioner reiterated the continued commitment of Governor-Ahmed led administration to provide affordable and conducive housing units across the state.
The administration of Governor Ahmed is constructing 1,000 housing units under the Maigida Housing Scheme, in the new GRA, Budo-Osho, Tanke, Ilorin and the Civil Service Welfare Estate, Ogbondoroko.
The theme of the 11th Abuja Housing Show was “Solving Nigeria’s Housing Challenges through Innovative Finance and Infrastructure Solutions”.
In his address, the Managing Director, FESADEB Communications Limited and convener of the show, Mr Festus Adebayo, disclosed that the award was presented to the Kwara state governor for his contributions to housing, infrastructure and economic growth in the country.
He said the idea behind the award was to promote and encourage excellence in the construction and housing industry in the country.
Adebayo further noted that Kwara was selected after a critical appraisal of its contributions in housing and infrastructure development in the country in last one year.
