KWSG Awards Renovation of Ilorin Stadium Indoor Sports Hall for N922.8M
Kwara State government has awarded the renovation of the Indoor sports hall, Ilorin stadium complex to Metro Fittings and Accessories Nigeria Limited for a contract sum of N925.8million.
The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Alhaji Mahmud Ajeigbe disclosed this while briefing pressmen on the outcome of the council meeting held on Wednesday at the council chamber, government house, Ilorin.
The renovation is for a duration of 9 months.
He noted that the State Stadium which was built over 40 years ago is the only one in the Country that houses 26 sports, thus a need to upscale the facility in order to promote sporting activities in the State.
Also, the commissioner disclosed that the State has confirmed another case of Lassa fever involving the father of the boy initially infected. He, however added that despite the discovery of the two cases, there is medically no Lassa Fever outbreak in the State.
He urged the general public not to panic as Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has approved the procurement of protective equipment and other medical supplies.
He said the department of Public health, Ministry of Health is on top of the situation with isolation centers at the General hospital Omu-Aran, General Hospital Oke-Ode, General hospital Ajase-Ipo and primary health centre, Babanla.
