The Gaa-Imam community in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State has applauded the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for picking Hajia Omodara Aminat as candidate of Ilorin West Local Government Area in the forthcoming Local Government election.
They thanked the party for encouraging internal democracy in its fold.
A statement jointly signed by Chairman and Secretary of Gaa-Imam community, Alhaji Bayo Aminu and Sadollah Ibrahim, said the emergence of the APC flag-bearers in the recent primary election ahead of the November 18, 2017 council polls was opened, participatory and transparent.
The statement issued in Ilorin at the weekend thanked the state APC for not only making the processes democratic but rancour-free.
It specifically applauded the party leader and President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki,who used his divine wisdom in arriving at the processes leading to the party nomination of both chairmanship and councillorship candidates across the 16 Local Government Areas.
The statement also commended the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, for sharing the view of the ruling party in providing level playing ground for the contestants in the council polls.
It however thanked the State Working Committee of APC chaired by Hon Ishola Balogun Fulani, the Kwara Central Senatorial Party Chairman, Alhaji Jimoh Adesina, for their fatherly role, just as it also commended the elders and stakeholders in Ilorin West for their zeal and commitment throughout the preliminary processes.
It noted with satisfaction the efforts of the local and ward party executive committees in ensuring unity of purpose in the local government.
The statement, however, expressed her readiness to run all inclusive government by carrying all and sundry along if voted into office in the forthcoming council election.
It urged people of the state not to renege in their support to the present administration.
