Speech By Saraki’s Constituency DG During Day 2 of Instructional Material Distribution To Students In Kwara

BEING A ‎SPEECH DELIVERED BY THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF SARAKI’S CONSTITUENCY OFFICE, HON. ABDULWAHAB OLADIMEJI ISSA DURING THE DISTRIBUTION OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS TO STUDENTS IN KWARA CENTRAL

Good day my father, the first Makama of Ilorin and the PTA Chairman of Kwara state, Alhaji Ibrahim Oniye, the local government chairman of Ilorin West, Alhaji Abdulwahab Ololele, the Education Secretary of Ilorin West, Alhaji Animashaun, the APC chairman of Ilorin West, Alhaji Ballah, members of state of ABS Mandate Constituency Office, gentlemen of the press, Headmaster and pupils of Ansarul Islam LGEA School, Okemale Ilorin, distinguished ladies and gentlemen.
                                      
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to this momentous occasion which is a watershed in the commitment of the Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON) to the development of education from the foundational level and going forward.

We shall be distributing over 300,000 textbooks in English Language, Basic Science and Technology and Mathematics textbooks, as well as notebooks to public pre-basic schools, primary schools and junior secondary schools across Ilorin West, Ilorin East, Ilorin South and Asa Local Governments which constitute the Kwara Central Senatorial district being represented by our principal, His Excellency the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, at the National Assembly Abuja.                            

I am assured that as soon as we teach our children the fundamental concepts of numeracy and literacy and the basic science from the beginning, then we can be rest assured that sooner than later, we shall produce outstanding scholars in engineering, journalism, law, medicine, social sciences and Humanities.                                      

What we are doing today is another fulfilment of our electioneering campaigns to our people and our responsibility to join hand with government to improve teaching and learning in our dear state. Government alone cannot do it, it therefore behoves all of us at our individual and collective levels to contribute our quota.                       
On the final note, before we proceed to other itemized schools in Ilorin West local government and later to Asa local government area of the constituency, i urge the heads of schools, teachers, parents and the pupils to guard this free donation of books jealously so that our growth and development as a people can be assured.
