The Senate President announced this on both Saturday and Sunday, while meeting with various stakeholders from across Kwara Central and the state — as part of his end-of-year Constituency interaction activities.
In the history of Nigeria, this is the first time that a political officeholder will be opening up this many constituency offices.
“This is about bringing governance closer to you, the people,” the Senate President said, while addressing a cross-section of his constituents on Sunday evening, “I want to ensure that the effects of our legislative empowerment programs are felt in every household.”
The President of the Senate also announced that each of the new Constituency Offices will be staffed by four staff, chosen from the community.
“This will help to create more opportunities for each community through monthly empowerment programs that will begin in January 2018. It will also ensure that there are direct feedback mechanisms in place at all times,” he said.
