The Kwara South All Progressive Congress, APC Elders Council has condemned the move by a youth group in the senatorial district to initiate a recall process of the Senator representing Kwara South in the National Assembly, Dr. Rafiu Ibrahim.
The elders councils in a statement issued and signed by its Acting chairman Alhaji (Hon.) Kola Yusuf and other members: Alhaji (Hon.) Kola Shittu, Alhaji (Hon.) Ibrahim Omoniyi, Alhaji (Chief) Muhammed A. Ajayi, Alhaji (Chief) Yusuf Olaniyi, Alhaji Sulieman Obalola, Sir (Dr) Chief J. B. Ayeni (JP), in Igosu, Oyun LGA of Kwara State. They exalted the performance of the senator as unprecedented in the history of the senatorial district.
The group stated that the regular consultations of Senator Ibrahim with the leadership of the party at ward, local government, state and the leadership of the Senate under the leadership of the Nigerian Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki has been misconstrued as a weakness.
They added that it is unfortunate to note that any group is contemplating a so called recall process of a performer like Dr Rafiu who is one of the most active senators of the 8th senate.
To this end, the elders advised that the peaceful atmosphere which is being enjoyed in the senatorial district should therefore not be disrupted by any group or individual through false claims and publications.
