In preparation for the much-anticipated 2023 general elections, The State Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara has warned the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to stay clear of the Northern District of the state to avoid further humiliation.

According to a statement released on Friday and signed by the Director of Publicity for the Kwara PDP State Campaign Council, Kayode Ogunlowo, in Ilorin, the state capital, he described the footage of protesters at a sponsored rally by the APC in Edu Local Government Area as the imminent humiliation abounds for the ruling party if they fail to heed the warnings of the indigents.

Ogunlowo restated that Kwara Northerners have renewed hope in the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP and insha Allah in coming Governor in person of Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi, adding that Yaman/Makanjuola PDP mandate is the only one that can take Kwarans out of the present quagmire.

He further said that the wanton rejection of many activities of the APC in the Kwara North District is a strong signal of the imminent loss that awaits the ruling APC at the fast-approaching polls in Kwara.

“We have monitored carefully the footage of protesters in rejection of the APC activities at a rally held on Thursday in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State. As the most conservative and people-centric political party, We make bold to say that Kwara Northerners have reestablished hope in the PDP. They have equally resolved to support their distinguished son’s candidature and ensure his victory and other PDP candidates at the polls under the banner of our great party; the PDP.

“Unlike the avalanche of protests that have trailed the campaigns of the ruling APC in Kwara North, the district has become the safe abode for the PDP most importantly with the #OSUWA mantra of our great party.

“While we congratulate the Kwara Northerners for their unalloyed support towards victory for all our party’s flagbearers at the 2023 polls in the state, we appeal to them to mobilise every eligible voter across the old and new polling units of the district, to ensure they collect their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) as an on-ward collection of PVC cards begins today across the 193 ward collation centres in Kwara State.”
