The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, campaign council has welcomed the senior special assistant to the Kwara state governor on Poverty Alleviation, who recently resigned his appointment, Hon. Sheko, officially decamped at his Shiya-Boripe Ward, Baruten LGA along other supporters.
The Director Media, Kwara State PDP Campaign Council, Lawal Akanbi Sharafadeen disclosed the defection news in a statement issued.
Lawal also revealed that the APC LG executive and several ward executive members have also decided to pitch their tent with the People’s Democratic Party, PDP as the Leader, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the party’s campaign council tour Kwara North.
“Also in Gure community, Honorable Mukthar Kilishi who was the state house of assembly candidate for Young Progressives Party, YPP in Okuta Yashikira constituency of Kwara North in the forth coming election on Saturday 4th of February, 2022 also decided to join the People’s Democratic party.
“The defectors were received into the PDP by the leader of the party in Kwara state, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki during his tour to Baruten local government area.” Lawal said.
According to the Hon. Mukthar Kilishi, his decision to join the PDP was necessitated by the realization that it is pertinent for all well meaning Kwarans to join hands in collaboration with the party to depose the ruling APC from power because our collective future is at great risk in the hands of APC.
“The PDP gladly welcomed the new defectors in the struggle to recover Kwara state from the failed hands of the APC while extending open arms to others who wish to join this moving train.”
“We agree that it is in the collective interest of Kwarans to set asides all differences and work together to reclaim our state from the APC led government that is actively trying to mortgage our future.” Lawal added.
