To demoralize and demean the Messenger of Allah, the pagan Arabs began to vilify him by saying “this is a poct, a madman, a soothsayer, Satan comes to him and teaches him. He is a sorcerer, a liar.” And when they encountered the Prophet they would glare at him and say scornfully: “This is the man who decries our gods!” The pagans would taunt the Muslims as they passed by them.
The unjust ridicule and condemnation avalanche deeply hurt even the Prophet but sooner than later, Allah sent down to him many words of inspiration and assurance that, the evildoers would definitely reap the fruit of their evil deeds.
With the growing number of Muslims, the Quraysh became increasingly pertubed. It was close to the annual pilgrimage (Hajj) to the Ka’abah, and people from all over the peninsula were expected in Mecca before long. The Quraysh feared that the Muslims would attract and influence the visitors. They also worried about the loss of face that will ensue if a rival religion flourished in the stronghold of their gods. A delegation of the Quraysh called on Waleed bin Mugheera, who was old and a man of standing. He called on the people of Quraysh that the time of Hajj has come, and people from all sides will come to them, editorialized that these people have all heard about Muhammad (SAW), so, let’s agree upon what to say about him lest we contradict one another.
The people asked him as the supposed wise and old man to tell them what to say when these visitors come to them, he denied and instead asked for suggestions. Some of them said, we should call him a soothsayer; some suggest to call him a mad man; some opined to call him a poet and another set of people said to call him a sorcerer. Waleed was against all what people suggested noting that Prophet Muhammad neither speaks nor versifies like a soothsayer; neither did he behave erratically nor was his speech confusing; Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was not a poet as we all knew the different kinds of poetry, and his words can’t be compared to any of them; and neither did he practise the art of exorcism nor the tying of knots, so, he can’t be called a sorcerer. Waleed submitted.
The people then asked him “What shall we say then?” Waleed thought for a moment and said, “By God, his words are sweet, fresh and attractive. His root is firm and His branches are fruitful. Hence, whatever you claim about him will not be believed. However, it is more convincing, in my opinion, if you were to present him as a sorcerer. You should say that he has brought a message by which he creates a rift between father and son, brother and brother, husband and wife. Under his influence family ties have been rendered asunder, and every day families break up because of him.”
The recent finger pointing by governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and Kwara APC is very relatable to the Arab pagans by using different organizations and groups to wrongly accused Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki of creating rift within Ilorin, an emirate he has always dedicated his time and resources to its constant refinement, growth and sustainability.
Akin different suggestions by the Quraysh against prophet Muhammad (SAW), Kwara APC under the leadership of Abdrulrahman (the Waleed) after their failed attempt trying to call Dr. Bukola Saraki a different names, they have started launching another ploys to demean Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and demoralize Kwarans from voting him and his party, APC out come 25th February and 11th March 2023 elections. The first failed attempt was to bring again to the memory of Kwarans how they inhumanly accused Saraki of sponsoring Offa robbery where many innocent lives were lost, a case which Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has been vindicated. The second was accusing Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki of hiring a cultist to murder a particular candidate which was eventually denied by the candidate himself. Interestingly, the purported hired killer was later identified as one of the thugs freed from prison by governor Abdulrahman.
After their earlier unsuccessful ploys, as agents of evil that they are, they went further by attempting to use unknown “jeunjeun” groups to soil the father-son relationship between our highly revered father, Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Zulu Gambari and the Waziri Ngeri, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki with groundless accusation which cannot hold water. This is nothing but highest show of fatuousness inspired by self-deceit and ignorance of the kind of relationship existing between Emir and his highest-ranking officer.
Knowing that the above accusation was dead on arrival, they flown another lie to incrimate an elder-stateman, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki of planning to induce violence within the used-to-be state of harmony. The accusation was not only lame but also laughable because why would a man while on a ballot contesting for election did not cause violence will plan violence for elections he’s not even on the ballot? It only tells how quickly governor Abdulrahman and his party, APC has run out of tactics and achievements to make people return them to power, hence, resulting to campaign of calumny.
As the Quraysh were perturbed and fazed because of the then up-and-coming pilgrim during the early days of Islam, Abdulrahman and APC is now in disarray because of the incoming election, in which their loss cannot be helped. Kwarans should see through their tricks because it’s the last kicks of a dying horse as I had titled one of my messages to kwarans on Abdulrahman and mostly, it’s dangerous and devoid of justification.
As Almighty God foiled many plots of the pagans against Prophet Muhammad (SAW), so shall Governor Abdulrahman and APC’s devilish plans will not be any different.
