Following Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s visit to Patigi on Tuesday, hundreds of people including youth, women and stakeholders, on Wednesday, stormed the streets of Patigi to show solidarity and support for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its governorship candidate, Alhaji Abdullahi Shuaib Yaman.
Patigi people said they have seen enough of the deceit and poor governance of the present APC administration and have therefore rejected the party. They also mocked Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for inducing residents of Patigi with money, calling him ‘Mr Transfer’. The Governor was said to have used his personal account to transfer money to some persons in Patigi yesterday.
They said they would collect money from Governor Abdulrahman and still vote for the PDP, noting that their experience in the last 4 years has been tough and disappointing.
One of those who participated in the rally, Yunusa Idris said: “Patigi is for the PDP. We are not going to compromise our integrity. We remain resolute to actualising the Kwara North 2023 Agenda and we will be supporting the only political party that deemed it fit to pick its governorship candidate from our region.
“We appreciate the PDP for fulfilling its promise; we shall reciprocate this gesture by voting massively for the party. Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq should be told that our conscience is not for sale and we are not hungry.”
