The 2023 Kia EV9 is an entirely new nameplate for the Kia brand, and it is the ninth in the company’s aim to sell 11 new electric vehicles by 2026.
The EV9 is expected to make its debut in April 2023. It is expected to go on sale towards the end of 2023 or early 2024.
We’ve seen tiny crossovers, premium sedans, and even a few of pickup trucks as automakers make their way into the realm of electric cars.
While there are still lots of areas lacking all-electric vehicles, the dearth of three-row crossovers from big companies may be the most shocking.
The all-new Kia EV9 will fill a void that has long existed: the all-electric, three-row, mass-market SUV that has yet to appear. There are electric three-rows from Tesla, Mercedes, and Rivian, but is there one that average purchasers with typical budgets would be interested in? This will be the first of many.
That also looks wonderful.
According to the leaks, it’s a really striking and attractive design. I can see the door handles on this one, unlike the grainy leaked photographs, and they look to be flush-mounted ones that extend out, as shown on the back car, which appears to have the front door handle extended.
I’m not sure how I feel about the intricacy of these kind of handles, but they’ve become quite standard on luxury EVs.

Concept: 2024 Kia EV9
According to Kia, “Revealed at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show, concept EV9 reimagines what an all-electric vehicle can be. Featuring 3rd row capability, a solar panel built into the hood, and an interior made from sustainable materials, the EV9 fuses the bold SUV attitude with the credentials of an EV. And with the naturally blended pop-up steering wheel and the 27-inch ultra-wide display, concept EV9 offers an innovative, boundary-pushing experience for the driver. “

The dashboard is appealing, the wide display panel is clean, the seats are comfy, and there is a noticeable sense of spaciousness. There are no fashionable plastic piano black surfaces inside the EV9.
The electric SUV makes use of newer, more sustainable materials to produce materials and fabrics that are pleasing to the touch — and to your conscience.

There are many things to like about the EV9, but its best feature is its open, roomy interior. Even when it’s full, the cabin seems spacious enough to allow you to breathe and rest. The large wheelbase of the EV9 provides enough inside room for both passengers and freight.

Size: 2024 Kia EV9
Based on size alone, the EV9 will fill a similar niche in Kia’s portfolio as the ICE-powered Telluride. The 2021 Concept EV9 was 194 inches long with a 122-inch wheelbase, 81 inches wide, and 70 inches height. This gives it an inch more height and three inches more width than the Telluride.
The wheelbase is also 7.8 inches longer despite being three inches shorter overall. If those measurements hold true for the production EV9, it should have a fairly big inside, even when compared to the capacious Telluride.
