Bynes, 36, started her acting career as a child. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, she became a Nickelodeon star. During that time, The Amanda Show was the reason she was most well-known.

She has subsequently been in additional series, but she also made a name for herself in the film industry. The most well-known films starring Amanda Bynes are Big Fat Liar, Hairspray, She’s the Man, and Easy A. Due to her aforementioned issues with mental health and substance misuse, she hasn’t performed much acting since 2010.

After a public meltdown involving a series of peculiar legal run-ins dating back to 2012, Amanda was involuntarily committed to a Pasadena mental health treatment facility in 2013, which marked the beginning of her conservatorship. Bynes’ transgressions included two hit-and-runs, a DUI, and a 2013 arrest for tossing a bong out of a window of her Manhattan apartment on the 36th floor.
