Stellantis is taking care not to overlook veterans with good old-fashioned combustion engines as it implements its strategy to transition all 14 brands’ vehicles to electric in the coming years.

Keeping the Jeep Wrangler fresh for its legions of fans, as well as the patina it casts over the rest of the Jeep lineup, must be top of mind.

The 4xe portfolio includes the Power Box, which is effectively an additional power supply box with four 120-volt outlets and a total output of 30 amps. If you require extra power for a longer period of time,

the Power Box may operate independently or in a hybrid mode with the SUV’s engine.

Jeep is also adding two new models to its 4xe lineup for 2024. The Sport S 4xe is the new entry level, mirroring the gasoline-powered Sport trim and providing customers with a less expensive version of the plug-in hybrid model.

The new Rubicon X joins both the 4xe and gas-fed lineups, sitting directly above the standard Rubicon trim and adding interior and off-road goodies.

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler has an evolving outward design, as is expected for the iconic SUV, as well as a revised interior with greater safety, comfort, and tech amenities including a 12.3-inch central control screen.

“Today, we are raising the bar once again by combining the most capable Wrangler to date, with more technology, comfort, and safety features,” Jeep CEO Christian Meunier said in a press release announcing

the vehicle’s unveiling at the New York International Auto Show on Wednesday.

Jeep is now let you can install an 8,000-pound Warn Winch, following in the footsteps of the Ford Bronco Everglades. Wrangler buyers can also add a stock Dana 44HD solid full-float rear axle, making it easier to

fit larger tires. The Wrangler Rubicon now has a crawl ratio of up to 100:1 and a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds.

By adding larger 33-inch tires, steel rock rails, and a standard rear-locking differential, Jeep is also enhancing the Willys model as an alternative budget off-roader trim.

Zero Emission

For the second year in a running, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe has been the best-selling PHEV in America, and the new 2024 Wrangler 4xe expands on the Jeep brand’s Zero Emission Freedom aim in its endeavor to

become the greenest SUV brand in the world, developing the most capable and sustainable Jeep SUVs.

Jeep Wrangler 4xe models, as well as a variety of electrified powertrains, will play a role for the Jeep brand as it follows the Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, which calls for electrified and more efficient

propulsion systems to help Stellantis cut its global carbon footprint by 50% by 2030 and lead the transportation industry to achieve net carbon zero by 2038. By the end of 2025, the entire North American Jeep fleet will be obsolete.

New Rims

For 2024, all of the classic Wrangler trim levels return, plus two new additions. The Sport S 4xe adds plug-in hybrid power to a lower-spec trim while keeping 20-inch wheels and a variety of driver-assist systems.

With 12-way power front seats, a nine-speaker Alpine audio, Nappa leather seats, integrated off-road cameras, steel bumpers, a full-time transfer case, 35-inch tires, and more, the Rubicon X elevates the Wrangler family.

Upgrades

New standard side-curtain airbags (perhaps in reaction to the Bronco’s side bags) and a new “stealth” antenna incorporated into the windscreen; goodbye, whip!

Twelve-way power adjustable seats are also available, as is a built-in accessory mounting system on the Wrangler’s dashboard, which was undoubtedly inspired by the Bronco.

A new Sport S 4xe grade has been added, which will be the most affordable form of the plug-in hybrid, which can now be connected to a Power Box accessory with four 120-volt outlets that can be powered by the battery pack.
