A (MMA) fighter has been detained in the US for reportedly punching a US airman to death in a Florida bar fight.
According to prison records, Ross Johnson, 23, of Illinois, who was charged with manslaughter, is being held in custody on a $250,000 bond.
According to Global News, The police said the fight took place inside and outside the Coyote Ugly Saloon in Panama City Beach. They added that Larry was not a participant but may have known someone involved in the fight, according to the outlet.
Global News quoted the police a further saying that Johnson punched Larry once in the face in the parking lot. The security team of the bar broke up the fight and even tried to administer CPR to the airman but couldn’t save him.
A woman was seen on surveillance video telling Johnson about the altercation between his companion and an unidentified male in the parking lot.
On his approach to join the altercation, he is alleged to have been observed jumping over the bar’s outdoor terrace and striking Larry fatally, according to an affidavit from Panama City Beach police.
Investigators claim that although he first claimed to have simply shoved Larry, he later allegedly told a witness, ‘Man I hit that guy, I laid him out, and I think I killed him.’
