William Saliba’s injury status has been updated, and another defender is being linked with a move to Manchester City.
Saliba is unlikely to be ready for the encounter against Liverpool. The French international has missed Arsenal’s previous two Premier League games, against Crystal Palace and Leeds, due to a back ailment that is still bothering him.
Rob Holding will continue to deputize for Saliba, as Arteta is hesitant to take any chances ahead of the match. Without a doubt, Saliba has been one of the Premier League’s breakout performers this season and is swiftly becoming a Gunners hero.
The Frenchman is recovering from a back injury sustained in last month’s Europa League defeat to Sporting Lisbon.

He has been ruled out of Arsenal‘s previous two games against Crystal Palace and Leeds, with Rob Holding filling in.
Arsenal has won both of its games without Saliba, but the journey to Anfield will be a very different challenge, regardless of Liverpool’s mediocre record.
Kwaralefro learnt that Saliba had started every league match this season until to his injury, but he has now missed consecutive 4-1 triumphs over Crystal Palace and Leeds, with Rob Holding filling in at center-back.
According to The Sun, Saliba will miss his side’s trip to Merseyside after being unable to train for almost a month.

Nonetheless, Arteta recently talked favourably about the injury, ruling out the possibility of surgery.
Manager Mikel Arteta has previously stated that the club’s medical team is being cautious with Saliba and is working to find the best way for him to regain full health.
He was expected to be fit for the trip to Anfield after missing the win against Leeds on Saturday, but it looks he may need more time to heal.
There were worries that Saliba might be out for the rest of the season, and while the club is more confident that he will be able to return soon, it appears like he will miss at least one more game.
