Court bars NLC TUC on proposed strike

The Organized Labor has been prevented from going on strike over the elimination of the fuel subsidy by the National Industrial Court (NIC).

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) were prohibited from participating in any kind of strike on Monday by an order that was acquired by the federal government.

Justice O.Y. Anuwe ruled on an exparte application submitted to the court, ordering the unions not to begin their planned industrial action or strike of any kind until the hearing and decision on the motion on notice dated June 5, 2023.

The court also ordered that the defendants be served with the originating processes in the lawsuit as soon as possible after setting June 19 for the hearing.
