Latest update has revealed that during the search for the missing tourist submarine, banging noise was heard in the area of the search.
According to an internal US government memo on the search, Sonar picked up banging sounds on Tuesday from underneath the water in the North Atlantic Ocean.
In the North Atlantic, 900 miles east of Cape Cod, in water that was nearly 13,000 feet deep, the sub ran aground. As of Tuesday night, it had less than 40 hours of usable air left.
Every 30 minutes on Tuesday, the team hunting for the missing sub heard banging noises; four hours later, when more sonar devices had been deployed, the crew heard the hammering noises once more.

On board the OceanGate Expeditions submersible Titan are CEO and founder Stockton Rush, British millionaire adventurer Hamish Harding, renowned French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, and his 19-year-old son Suleman Dawood.
According to Coast Guard Captain Jamie Frederick, troops from the U.S. Coast Guard, Canadian Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, and Air National Guard had combined searched nearly 7,600 square miles since the sub vanished two days earlier.
According to Independent.co.uk, A Canadian aircraft searching for the missing submersible reportedly detected “banging” in 30-minute intervals coming from the area the divers disappeared, according to internal e-mail updates sent to Department of Homeland Security leadership.
“RCC Halifax launched a P8, Poseidon, which has underwater detection capabilities from the air,” the e-mails read.
“The P8 deployed sonobuoys, which reported a contact in a position close to the distress position. The P8 heard banging sounds in the area every 30 minutes. Four hours later additional sonar was deployed and banging was still heard.”
