This indicates that they are unable to understandably read and write in any language.

The Ghana Statistical Service’s 2021 Population and Housing Census revealed the approximate 7.9 million figure. The 2021 PHC will be the third Population and Housing Census to be held in Ghana, following the five post-independence population censuses conducted in 1960, 1970, 1984, 2000, and 2010, the last two of which included both a population census and a housing census.

The 2021 PHC is intended to produce statistics that are crucial for planning and making policy. Therefore, it has the utmost significance for everyone in Ghana.

Only statistics will be derived from the census data; no one will be identified for the purpose of taxes or punishment.
