Texas woman charged after holding 4-month-old baby from third-story apartment window

According to Harris County Constable Precinct 4, a mother has been charged with child endangerment after it was claimed she was hanging her 4-month-old baby from a window.

The event took place on Friday at the Venti Apartment complex in north Harris County’s 14300 block of Ella Boulevard.According to court documents, Gre’Ondria Whitfield allegedly threatened to kill her child while holding them from a third-floor apartment window, and police got many complaints about her. According to officials, witnesses reportedly begged Whitfield and forced their way through her door, which led her to point a revolver at one of them.

Deputies promptly secured the infant’s safety as they arrived and took Whitfield into custody.

Whitfield is currently being held on aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children charges. A $40,000 bond was imposed for her. Tuesday is the date of her upcoming court appearance.

The infant was later released to a guardian after infant Protective Services was informed, according to the authorities.

Greondria Whitfield has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and endangering children, according to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman. “Her bond was set out of the 351st District Court at $40,000.”
