Leaked footage from a battle between a Ukrainian and a Russian battalion on June 24, 2023. The video showing the combat between Ukrainian Forces and Russian forces in trenches have just surfaced online.

The video shows how tedious it could be to overrun Russian fortified positions. It was a one on one combat, trenches to trenches as they attempt to move forward.

Wagner PMC fighters are said to have started withdrawing from Rostov. Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the mercenaries, announced on Saturday that he had directed his troops to retreat and return to their bases, seemingly abandoning an armed uprising that had them moving on Moscow. Prigozhin claimed in a post on Telegram that the action was taken to prevent bloodshed.

This is the official statement from Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner group and the leader of this coup.

“They were going to dismantle PMC Wagner. We came out on 23 June to the March of Justice. In a day, we walked to nearly 200km away from Moscow. In this time, we did not spill a single drop of blood of our fighters. Now, the moment has come when blood may spill. That’s why, understanding the responsibility for spilling Russian blood on one of the sides, we are turning back our convoys and going back to field camps according to the plan.”

Prigozhin promised to stop moving his troops and go back to his posts after accepting the terms of Lukashenko’s deal.
