Video: The Wagner Group has shot down a 3rd Russian helicopter

The Wagner Group has shot down a third Russian helicopter as civil conflict looms, according to popular international tabloid Visegrad.

Please note that the video below is yet to verified as it continues to trend on social media.

Heavy-armed fighters from Prigozhin’s Wagner militia were in charge of the streets of Rostov-on-Don, a city of more than a million people close to the Ukrainian border, in Russia’s first armed uprising since the Chechen wars 20 years ago.

There were more security personnel on the streets of Moscow. Metal fences surrounded Red Square.

Overnight, Prigozhin sent a flurry of messages demanding that the chief of the general staff Valery Gerasimov and the defence minister Sergei Shoigu visit him in Rostov.

The Wagner troops played a crucial role in the Russian invasion of Ukraine, helping to seize Bakhmut, the scene of the bloodiest and longest battles. Prigozhin, on the other hand, has been more critical of the Russian military’s top brass, accusing them of being ineffective and depriving his troops of ammunition and weaponry.

During the standoff, whose many specifics remained unknown, President Vladimir Putin appeared to be experiencing his worst domestic crisis since he approved a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

According to Reuters, Army General Sergei Surovikin, the deputy commander of Russian forces in Ukraine whom Prigozhin has praised in the past, in a separate video said that “the enemy is just waiting for our internal political situation to deteriorate”.

“Before it is too late … you must submit to the will and order of the people’s president of the Russian Federation. Stop the columns and return them to their permanent bases,” he said.
