Kenyan authorities have arrested Brian Mwenda, a fraudulent attorney who has won 26 cases while acting as an Advocate of the Kenyan High Court.
The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) alerted authorities to Mwenda’s fraudulent practices, which led to his imprisonment. The LSK claimed that Mwenda lacked legal qualifications and was not a registered member of the organisation.
According to the report, Mwenda had been able to portray himself as an experienced lawyer for a significant amount of time, and judges did not question his qualifications until after his most recent arrest.

He is not an advocate and does not possess a license to practice law in Kenya, according to LSK Nairobi Branch on their X account.
According to a Ghana Web article, the Law Society of Kenya claimed that Mwenda illegally accessed their website and “identified an account with a name corresponding to his, tampered with the details, and uploaded his own photo in a bid to infiltrate Kenya’s legal profession”.
Before his arrest, Mwenda had been an attorney for three years. He had handled a range of issues, including those involving the family, civil, and criminal justice systems.
How Mwenda won 26 lawsuits without having any legal background is a mystery. Some have conjectured that he may have falsified records or bought judges.
