Microsoft to hire OpenAI’s Sam Altman, says CEO Nadella

Sam Altman Chat GPT Microsoft

Days after the co-founder of the company that created ChatGPT was sacked, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said on Monday that he and other members of his team had been hired by OpenAI’s Sam Altman.

Altman, who gained notoriety last year with the introduction of the AI chatbot, wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “The mission continues.”

Along with co-founder of OpenAI Greg Brockman and their associates, Altman “will be joining Microsoft to lead a new advanced AI research team,” according to a post by Nadella on X.

Altman was fired by OpenAI‘s board on Friday, which led to many high-profile exits from the firm and a rumored effort by significant investors to have him reinstated.
