… Makinde and Adeleke align before the S-West PDP reconciliation conference
Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, and Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, have teamed together to support the PDP in the South-West region.
The governor remarked that the alignment will promote party unity and advancement while speaking to reporters just after meeting with the governor of Osun State at the governor’s office courtesy room in Agodi, Ibadan.
Adeleke said he felt at home in the state to see what he called outstanding transformational initiatives in the state during an unplanned visit to his colleague in Oyo on Friday.
The continued push for infrastructure development in Oyo State under Governor Seyi Makinde has become enviable, according to Senator Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, and his state is already following Osun’s lead.
This came at the same time that Governor Makinde said that, in contrast to media rumors, he and Adeleke—whom he referred to as his brother—had teamed up ahead of the peace negotiations inside the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, in the southwest.
He said: “Like my brother said, we are one. We discussed issues around the unity of our party in the South-West and alignment, and we are aligned. I can assure you that we will do what we are supposed to do.”
Regardless of the political rumors in the media, Adeleke told reporters at the Governor’s Office that he could not have missed the visit to Makinde, whom he referred to as his brother.
“I’m glad to be here; you know, Osun State used to be part of Oyo State, so we are brothers. I’m just coming from a working vacation, and I thought that coming from Lagos, I couldn’t just go straight to Osun; I had to come and pay a visit to my brother, Governor Seyi Makinde.”
“I’m here to tell him that I love him and he’s doing a good job in Oyo State, and to give him our report card too, that listen, the infrastructure that you’re doing in Oyo State that made him win his second term has begun in Osun State too, massive infrastructure, and also to discuss matters of the south-west with him,” Adeleke said.
Speaking at the same time, Governor Adeleke praised Governor Makinde for his enormous advancements in Oyo State’s infrastructure, pointing out that his administration had been following Osun State’s lead in terms of extensive infrastructure development.
