A Vancouver Island resident who identifies as “ecos*xual” has talked about her love with an oak tree.
Sonja Semyonova, a 45-year-old Vancouver resident who characterizes herself as a self-described “ecos*xual,” has formed an unusual relationship with the natural world, especially with an oak tree that she refers to as a source of “er*tic energy.”

During the Covid-19 lockdown, the woman, who had moved to Vancouver Island in Canada in the winter of 2020, took on regular walks. “I was walking a path near the tree five days a week for the whole winter. I noticed a connection with the tree. I would lie against it,” Semyonova said in a report.

Ecos*xuality, a relatively new style of s*xuality in which one professes love and affection for Mother Nature, has gained attention as a result of her bond with the tree.

She went on to say that she doesn’t perform any physical acts on the tree. “A big misconception is that ecos*xuality means s*x between people and nature, it’s a different way to explore the er*tic. To watch the changing of the seasons is to me an er*tic act.

“The presence I feel with the tree is what I’m looking for but that’s a fantasy with a person,” Semyonova lamented. “I had been craving that rush of er*tic energy that comes when you meet a new partner and that is not sustainable.”
