Violet Avoid, a well-known journalist and filmmaker from Zimbabwe, tragically committed su!cide. The news of her death sent shockwaves through the artistic community, leaving many in mourning and searching for answers.

The filmmaker described in the now-viral video how she was raped at work, which resulted in a pregnancy that she attempted to conceal from her husband.

Avoid said that because she didn’t know who had raped her until the following morning after a drunken outburst, she didn’t know. reported according to sources, Violet had ingested rat poison, and her struggles included the process of filing for divorce and facing cyberbullying. Having recently relocated to the Philippines from China, she left behind four children—three girls and a boy.
