Desmond Elliot, a lawmaker from Lagos who represents the Surulere seat, was seen giving APC supporters in Surulere, Lagos state, perfumes and fragrances worth N200 and N500 in a widely shared video.
The actor who entered politics was re-elected as the Surulere seat legislator in the general elections of 2023.
During what seemed to be an APC gathering, the congressman gave presents to the young individuals begging on Lagos’ streets. Numerous them were spotted squabbling over the common products and trying to persuade the lawmaker to grant them their own part.
But many Nigerians have attacked him for his disconnection from reality, claiming that the primary cause of the nation’s economic collapse is the fact that most Nigerians are impoverished and living in hunger.
It was observed that Elliot and his men were giving out note books, pencils, crayons, toothpaste, jotters, and perfumes.
Elliot initiated this to alleviate the continuous suffering that citizens of the nation endure, he claimed.
