Full Video: Robert Downey Jr. Slammed for Snubbing Ke Huy Quan While Accepting Oscar

Although Robert Downey Jr. emerged triumphant from the 2024 Oscars, there has been some criticism of his behavior during the event.

On Sunday, March 10, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, former winners of the Best Supporting Actor award, including Sam Rockwell, Tim Robbins, Ke Huy Quan, Christoph Waltz, and Mahershala Ali, presented the category, which was won by Downey Jr., 58, for his performance as Lewis Strauss in Oppenheimer. Downey Jr. grabbed his trophy out of Quan’s hand as he ascended the stairs, barely acknowledging him.

At the Oscars, it is customary for the previous winner to give the trophy to the following year’s winner.

As Robert entered the platform, Ke Huy, who had received the gong for Everything Everywhere All at Once, beamingly screamed out his name.

The Sherlock Holmes actor swept past Ke Huy to pick up the Oscar, failing to look him in the eye.

His seemingly haughty behavior did not sit well with fans, who flocked to social media to vent about the Hollywood actor. “Robert Downey Jr. had the opportunity to take a moment or even thank Ke Huy Quan while he was on stage, giving him a personal award. One person cried, “This s**t was so disrespectful, idc.” Another person asked, “Did he just completely ignore Ke Huy Quan that announced the winner?””Ke Huy Quan is not being hugged by Robert Downey Jr.? Excuse me,” said a third.
