Earlier today, the president of the 8th Nigerian Senate and leader of the PDP in Kwara State, His Excellency Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON), paid tribute to the late former Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Elder Peter Kishira, at his funeral ceremony held today at First Baptist Church, Ilesha Baruba, Baruten LGA.
Represented by Honorable Bawa Isa Adamu, the senatorial candidate for Kwara North of the PDP in the last general elections, Dr. Saraki praised the late former Deputy Governor for his services to the state and Nigeria.
In a personally addressed letter to the Kishira family, which was read by Honorable Issa Bawa, Saraki described the former Deputy Governor as an accomplished politician and community leader who served Kwara and its people with diligence and dedication. He noted that Kishira’s legacy will continue to be cherished by generations.
“Elder Peter Kishira was an accomplished politician and a respected community leader who served Kwara and its people with diligence and dedication. He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, leadership, and public service that will be remembered and cherished for years to come,” the statement added.
Other distinguished personalities present at the occasion included the immediate past Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed (Maigida), and his wife, Deaconess Omolewa Ahmed, the National Legal Adviser of the PDP and former Attorney General of Kwara, Honorable Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), and other top politicians from inside and outside Kwara.
