Kwara PDP primary elections set new standards for transparency, credibility – Saraki’s Media Aide
The process of the Peoples Democratic Party Primary Election in Ilorin West Local Government has been described as the most transparent, credible as well as accountable election in the history of the State.
The Press Officer to the 8th Senate President Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki on local matters Mr Abdulqadir Abdulganiyu gave the assertion while speaking with journalists at the Venue of Ilorin West Local Government Primary Election.
Saraki’s pen pusher commended PDP Ilorin West Local Government Electoral officers for a job well done, saying the election was conducted in an Open System that allowed all party members from twelve wards (12) including statutory officers within the Local Government Area to participate.
Mr Abdulqadir who expressed optimism that PDP is coming back stronger than before assured party members, stakeholders as well as party loyalists of people-oriented policies that will have a direct positive impact on the lives of Kwarans.
Senator Saraki’s Aide said the whole process has shown the party’s readiness to take over power come 2027, applauded aspirants’ doggedness urged them not to view the primary as a “do or die” affair but rather as an opportunity to strengthen the party. He emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation within the party.
Mr. Abdulqadir who hailed from Ubandawaki Ward decried the incessant failure of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s administration on economy, Security, Health, and Education, lack of progressive strategies says the APC administration in the last five years has taken the entire system into reverse gear.
“There is no doubt, the Peoples Democratic Party remains the voice, determined and focused on the wellbeing of masses unlike undemocratic ruling party in the State,” Mr Abdulqadir said.
The primary election later produced Comrade Musbau Esinrogunjo as the winner and Ilorin West LGA candidate to represent the PDP in the coming LG elections in the State.
It would be recalled that Eight (8) aspirants from different wards of Ilorin West Local Government bought Expression of Interest and Nomination Form but four voluntarily withdrew while four went for the primary.
