Save our lives, Pakata people beg Gov. AbdulRazaq

The people of Pakata area in the Ilorin West Local Government Area have appealed to the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, to direct concerned authorities to swiftly provide alternative routes for tanker drivers that are now plying Adeta-Pakata-Alore- Oloje Road in the heart of Ilorin.
This appeal was made by the President of “Pakata Patriots”, Ilorin, Mallam Shehu Ahmad Aliyu, in a statement made available to newsmen on Ilorin on Monday.
Mallam Aliyu explained that following the blocking of the newly completed Alfa Yahaya Road against articulated lorries, the drivers of the vehicles have resorted to taking the Adeta-Pakata-Alore-Oloje to connect either Oko-Olowo or Geri Alimi.
The community leader said that the activities of these drivers are posing danger to the lives of people who live along the Road and other road users.
He added that the people of the community are experiencing fear of unknown due to the threat of fire accidents that may be caused by those articulated vehicles that are always petrol-laden.
Mallam Aliyu, therefore, appealed to Governor AbdulRazaq for urgent actions on the issue before casualties are recorded.
