Sallah: PDP Expresses Gratitude to Saraki for Massive Investment in People’s Welfare

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has lauded the leader and President of the 8th Nigerian Senate, HE Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON), for his massive investment in the wellbeing of Kwarans during this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, describing it as a timely and unprecedented gesture coming from any non-government individual in the country.

The party, in a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, said although Dr. Saraki has, over the years, made it a tradition to reach out to the people during festive periods, the scale and impact of this year’s Sallah palliatives have surpassed those of previous years.

We also appreciate our party stakeholders, aspirants, and chieftains who, at their individual levels, supported and complemented the leader’s gesture across the state. Their acts of kindness contributed greatly to putting smiles on the faces of our people during this festive period.

From households to party structures, political and apolitical groups, NGOs, religious and traditional leaders, and individuals across the nooks and crannies of Kwara, the outpour of generosity from Dr. Saraki this festive season has been overwhelming. Several families and communities received gifts ranging from cows, rams, foodstuffs, and financial support—all from the personal resources of a man who currently holds no public office, but continues to lead with unmatched compassion.

For the past six years in opposition, Dr. Saraki has consistently shown that true leadership and service to the people do not require holding public office. His actions this Sallah once again indicate the stark difference between those who seek power to serve and those who hold power only to oppress—demolishing people’s shops, destroying livelihoods, and plunging people into avoidable hardship.

The Kwara PDP is immensely proud of Dr. Saraki’s relentless service to the state. His personal sacrifices to bring joy to the less privileged, especially during festive periods, reaffirm his place as a leader with a heart of gold.

We pray that Almighty Allah rewards him abundantly, grants him long life, good health, and the divine opportunity to witness a new Kwara—where good governance, compassion, and inclusive development are restored.
