Former Senate President and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Friday arrived in Ilorin to a rousing welcome from party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters across the state.
Receiving the crowd at his GRA residence, Saraki expressed profound appreciation to all party faithful for their sacrifices and steadfastness during the recently concluded ward, local government, and state congresses of the PDP.
He acknowledged the individual and collective efforts of members both in his presence and absence, assuring them that their loyalty and commitment would be duly recognized and rewarded. Saraki also charged party executives and members to sustain political activities across zones, wards, and local government areas, while emphasizing unity, focus, and continuous grassroots engagement ahead of future elections.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated state executive, the PDP Chairman, Hon. Isa Bawa Adamu , thanked the party leader, elders, stakeholders, and members for their overwhelming support during the congresses. He pledged the readiness of the new leadership to work collectively with all stakeholders, unite the party, and ensure victory for the PDP in the forthcoming general elections.
In his closing remarks, Saraki reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the progress of Kwara and the wellbeing of its people. He urged party members and Kwarans at large to remain hopeful and resilient, assuring that the PDP remains focused on restoring purposeful leadership, rebuilding trust, and bringing back the shared prosperity the state was once known for.
