Olofa’s Mother Passes at 94: Saraki Expresses Deep Sympathy

The President of the 8th Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has expressed condolence to the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye, the royal family and the people of Offa, following the death of the King’s mother, Alhaja Hawawu Awele Gbadamosi, Iya Ijebu.
In a press release signed by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, on Sunday, April 05, 2025, Saraki said the death of the King’s mother is a loss to all, because of her motherly love, counselling and leadership.
The former Senate President added that Mama was also admired for her guidance and counsel to the King since he occupied the prestigious royal stool of the ancient town of Offa.
“Mama was such a loving and accommodating mother who extended love and compassion beyond the ordinary. Her counsels and admonitions were priceless,” he said.
He, however, noted that the world will take solace in the fact that she lived till the ripe age of 94 and made a huge impact in the lives of many.
The Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, while mourning the dead, prayed to Allah to grant the Olofa, the Olofa in Council and the people of Offa the fortitude to bear the loss.
He further asked Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant her a place in Aljanah Firdaus.
