Preparations are in top gear for the official swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Kwara State Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The event, which also includes the formal handover by the outgoing EXCO, is scheduled to take place today at the party’s State Secretariat, located at 44 Pipeline Road, Ilorin.

According to a statement from the State Secretary of the Kwara PDP, Abdulrahman Abdullahi Kayode, the ceremony marks a significant milestone in the party’s ongoing efforts to reposition itself for future political victories in the state.

Kayode, who hosted some of the incoming and outgoing executive members in his office ahead of the event, described the occasion as a “new chapter in our party’s journey to re-secure Kwara.” He expressed optimism that the new leadership team will bring renewed energy, creativity, and commitment to the party’s vision.

“To the incoming EXCO members, I wish you divine guidance and an unwavering dedication to the welfare of our great party and the people of Kwara State. May your tenure be filled with purpose, productivity, and collective success,” Kayode said.

He also took a moment to appreciate the outgoing executives led by Rt. Hon. Babatunde Mohammed for their years of service and contributions to the growth and unity of the party.

“Your dedication and sacrifices have strengthened our foundation. The successes we anticipate in the coming years will be built upon the legacy you’ve established,” he added.

The State Secretary reaffirmed the party’s commitment to unity and progress under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON, expressing hope that the new era will bring prosperity and inclusiveness to both the PDP and the people of Kwara State.

As the PDP prepares for this historic transition, party supporters and well-wishers are expected to gather in large numbers to witness the ceremony — a symbolic renewal of purpose for the opposition party in Kwara.
