At the age of 33, Choi Sung-bong, a South Korean pop artist, was discovered dead in what appears to be a suicide.
At 9:41 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, the singer was discovered by police at his residence in the Yeoksam-dong neighborhood of Seoul, according to The Korea Times.
It happens only two years after he was shown to have lied about having several different cancers and solicited financial support from followers for his treatment.
He expressed regret and pledged to repay any donations after it turned out to be a fraud.
Due to a statement he wrote on his YouTube channel the day before his death, in which he apologized for his “foolish mistakes,” police suspect he committed suicide.
“I have been receiving attention and love from so many people from 2011 to the present,” he stated. I want to thank you and say how grateful I am.
“I am sincerely sorry for my foolish mistakes and those who have suffered damage, and I have repeatedly made mistakes,” he continued after apologizing for the 2021 hoax.For the previous two years, we have reimbursed everyone who requested a donation refund.
Looking back, I did my best to live a regular life for ten years, every day, starting when I was young. However, in the end, I’m sorry.
“I deeply apologize to the numerous persons who have suffered harm as a result of me… I apologize to all of the folks that aided me.
Slowcoach, published in 2016, Tonight, in 2021, and I PRAY, released in 2022 are only a few of the singer’s singles.
Following his success, Choi also penned a book in which he described his underprivileged beginnings and how he left music school due to financial difficulties.
He admitted in his Korea’s Got Talent audition that he was abandoned at the age of three but claimed that he fled after being beaten when he was just five years old.
