Kwara PDP Inaugurates Zoning and Disciplinary Committees Ahead of Congresses

Ilorin, Nigeria – August 4, 2025

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State today inaugurated two strategic committees — the Zoning Committee and the Disciplinary Committee — in preparation for its forthcoming congresses across the state.

The inauguration ceremony, which was held at the PDP State Secretariat along Pipeline Road in Ilorin, was presided over by the State Chairman of the party, Rt. Hon. Babatunde Mohammed.

The Zoning Committee is chaired by a member of the PDP National Board of Trustees (BoT), Hajia Nimota Aduke Ibrahim, while the State Legal Adviser, Barrister Michael Aborishade, leads the Disciplinary Committee.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Tunde Mohammed commended the leader of the party in Kwara State and President of the 8th Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, for his consistent support, guidance, and leadership. He described the inauguration of the committees as timely and crucial, given the party’s ongoing internal preparations for the upcoming congresses.

“This committee is coming at a time when our congresses are already staring at us. I urge all members to put the interest of the party above personal interests and work with dedication. I assure you of the full support and cooperation of the State Working Committee (SWC) as you carry out your responsibilities,” the chairman said.

In their separate responses, the Chairpersons of the two committees expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the Kwara PDP for the confidence reposed in them. They pledged to justify the trust by working diligently and in unity to ensure the party’s success, particularly as the 2027 general elections draw closer.

“We will not betray the trust and honor bestowed on us. Our commitment is to the party’s growth and victory,” Hajia Nimota Ibrahim and Barrister Aborishade noted, speaking on behalf of both committees.

The event drew a large crowd of party faithful, admirers, and stakeholders from across the state. The secretariat was filled to capacity as friends and supporters of the newly inaugurated committee members turned out in large numbers to witness the occasion.
