Waziri Ngari title, Validation of Saraki leadership, says Bolaji Abdullahi
The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has said the elevation of the President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, to the rank of Waziri Ngari of Ilorin Emirate was a validation of his leadership status in the Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole.
Abdullahi, a former Minister of Sports, said the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu- Gambari, by conferring the prestigious traditional title on Saraki, had sent a clear signal that the senate president’s political leadership in the state is beyond question.
In a statement issued in Ilorin yesterday, Abdullahi congratulated Saraki on his elevation as the 4th Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin, pointing out that it is even noteworthy that the last holder of the title was the father of the Senate President himself.
“That he is only the 4th holder of the Waziri title in the history of the Emirate underlines the significance of this moment and Dr. Saraki’s rise to pre-eminence in Ilorin,,” said Abdullahi.
The National Publicity Secretary of the ruling party, APC added that this recognition, coming after the Senate President’s victory at the Supreme court after three years of gruelling trial is a befitting reward for his abiding faith in the Almighty Allah, who has promised a great reward for those who remain patient and persevere in the face of adversity.
While praying the Almighty Allah to grant Dr. Saraki long life and good health in the service of the community and country, Abdullahi thanked the Emir of Ilorin for finding Saraki worthy of the deserving title as a worthy son and ambassador of the Emirate.
