France Now Looking Like War Torn Syria & Ukraine
After a 17-year-old boy was shot by police on Tuesday in Paris, France was rocked by a wave of protests that led to the ban on rallies in some areas, travel advisories, and a resurgence of the conversation about overpolicing in underserved neighborhoods.
At a crisis conference, France’s president promised to send out additional police to quell the unrest but refrained from issuing a state of emergency.
He encouraged social media platforms to remove particular information and parents to keep unruly kids at home.
According to Cbsnews.com, In a public statement after a crisis meeting of ministers, Macron said “a third of those arrested last night are young, even very young.”

“Nothing justifies violence,” Macron said, stoping short of declaring a state of emergency. “There is an unacceptable instrumentalization of the death of a teenager, which we all deplore, when the period should be one of meditation and respect.”
Elite Raid police officers in body armor patrolled strategic areas in black armored vehicles not just in Nanterre but also in Lille to the north and Marseille to the south in scenes that resembled guerilla warfare.
On Friday night, 45 000 police personnel, including special forces, were sent out to put an end to riots across the nation. The situation in two major towns, Marseille and Lyon, was highlighted as particularly chaotic, with stores being looted and buildings and vehicles being set on fire.
Gerald Darmanin, France’s interior minister, described Thursday night as one of “rare violence,” and the ministry said that 249 police and gendarmes were hurt, but none critically.
